Just Joined, is the servers actually down, or is it a "me" problem?

Hi everyone, I just made my account tonight while remembering the olden days on the OG game, and it says the servers are currently down and it seemed a bit sus that the first time I try to log in, they're down. Is it an actual system wide thing?
