In other news, this year's U.S. Open at Flushing Meadows, NY (tennis) witnessed the King of Spain - Rafael Nadal - dethroned by Frenchmen Lucas Pouille!

The defeat sent #4 seed Nadal packing in a fierce battle which lasted a total of 4+ hours.

When I clicked on this thread, I thought you either meant

A. The roleplay King of Spain in the game had been dethroned.

B. Spain had returned to a monarchy, and the monarch had been dethroned in real life.
